What is the International Friends Program?

The International Friends Program seeks to connect Northern Arizona University international students with domestic students and Flagstaff and Northern Arizona community members. It does so through two unique programs

  • International Friends Student Program
  • International Friends Community Program

International students can choose to apply to one or both of these programs. Students are paired with an NAU student or community member at the beginning of each semester.

The International Friends Program has also recently expanded to include a partnership with NAU's Center for High Altitude Training (http://www.hastc.nau.edu/). Through this partnership international athletes and teams are incorporated into the array of prospective participants in the International Friends program. Students and other NAU-based groups, along with members of the Flagstaff community are invited to learn more about upcoming training camps and the various countries and sports represented. Local individuals or groups have the opportunity to include visiting international athletes in activities such as picnics, pot-lucks, holiday celebrations, sports events, and more. To connect with a specific team currently training in Flagstaff, please contact: sean.anthony@nau.edu. To have your e-mail added to a database, indicating you would like to be considered for future teams, please contact: natalie.harlan@nau.edu
